When my Himalayan was a kitten I bought all organic litters because there was no harsh chemicals or weird textures to have to deal with.
I prefer any brand of non-scented clumping cat litter. Clumping is important to me as it is easy to keep the litter box clean. I always choose non-scented due to cats' sensitive noses. I don't want to give them any reason to dislike the litter box. So far so good!
I have owned a Maine Coon for about 10 years now, and from experience have found that any cat clumping litter for multiple cats works best. I also add a little baking soda to the litter each time I scoop/change it.
I own a Siamese and I find the best type of cat litter is one that has clumping ability as well as baking soda to help control cat odor.
