What are some health issues your particular breed of dog has had?

I have a Bichon Freese and he has really bad allergies. He is allergic to a lot of things including wool. He has some problems with his urine being overly concentrated.

Our Pekingese has had some breathing trouble off and on mostly while sleeping. She tends to sleep on her back and makes choking sounds while sleeping. The vet said the breathing problems are due to the breed's flat nose and face.

I have a Great Dane and gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV - a painful distending and twisting of the stomach) was our biggest worry. We got her stomach tacked at the same time she was spayed. The tacking keeps her stomach from twisting onto itself if she eats/ drinks too much/ too fast.

My German Shorthair Pointer had epilepsy. This is the second GSP dog I had with epilepsy, but the first one didn't have many seizures at all and lived a long life.

We have a 16 month old Doberman puppy. We were able to get her without her tail being cropped or her ears being docked. This really prevented her getting infections from the surgery. She is much happier and loves to wag her long tail.

I have had a Beagle who had seizures, and these were fully regulated with phenobarbitol. He and my previous dog had issues with some warty looking skin growths -- he had one on his ear and the mixed breed before him had one in her mouth. Both growths were easily removed.
