Alcohol poisoning in dogs is very serious and can be fatal. It only takes a small amount of beer or other alcoholic beverage to intoxicate a dog due to their much lower body weight. Dogs don't just get drunk from the alcohol. They may lapse into a coma and die.

If you suspect your dog has alcohol poisoning, take him immediately to your veterinarian for treatment. Activated charcoal is usually given immediately to absorbed the alcohol and toxins in the body.
Prevention is the key to keep your dog healthy. It's important to keep all alcoholic beverages out of the reach from your dog and never voluntarily give your dog beer or any other type of alcohol.
