Question:
What are some home made remedies for dog constipation?
Answer:
"I own 3 German Shephards. One of them had constipation. I tried putting one to two teaspons of bran or one to two teaspons of regular pumpkin to his meal and got good results."
Answer:
I own a little Jack Russell, so this has only happened to me once, but my friend ,who owns a Great Dane, suggested that I added half a teaspoon of Psyllium or Metamucil to his food. I did this twice a day for one day, and it cleared up. Also, you can just make sure your dog drinks lots of water.
Answer:
I think the best remedy for dog constipation is prevention. Limit treats and people food, consistently feed a high quality dog food and you and your dog will be happy. If your pet is experiencing constipation, I have heard that a small amount of canned pumpkin mixed with your pet's food is a safe remedy.
