Question:

What’s the best way to prevent dog ticks?

Answer:

My Maltese puppy got fleas when we got new sod in our backyard. I got rid of them with Flea and Tick Shampoo, and then a flea and tick medication that you put on the back of the neck. I still use the shampoo when I bathe her to prevent the ticks and the medication is great since it only needs to be put on the dog once a month.

Answer:

I own a Pitbull and I give it Frontline medicine to prevent ticks and hearworms. This medicine from the vet is the best way to make sure it will not get the tick. Also, make sure it stays away from the wooded areas and long grass, because this is where ticks are usually found.

Answer:

Frontline Plus is a great flea and tick control for dogs. We use it for our two Laboradors who tromp through fields and brush daily. It is extremely rare that we find a tick on the dogs since using the Frontline. Before the Frontline, daily tick removal was an unpleasant chore!

Answer:

We own a 1/2 Beagle & 1/2 Bishon Frise. We give her regular baths with a tick shampoo to prevent ticks.
