  • How old do puppies need to be before you treat them for fleas and ticks?

We have an eight week old puppy and was wondering when we can use a flea and tick treatment, per the breeder she is not due to go to the vets until she is 12 weeks.

What can I give my 6 month old Mini Aussie for teething? He has plenty of chew toys of different variety. Can he be given baby aspirin and how much as he weighs only 20 lbs.

  • Why did my puppy vomit?

My puppy was sleeping and then I left the room to go upstairs but when I came back he was awake and there was puke beside him . Why did he puke?

  • Kitten sneezing

I recently got a new kitten. He looks generally healthy aside from constant sneezing. He has a bit of haw showing but its so slight I almost feel its just his normal eye look. What do you think?

  • Can you board a dog if she might have earmites?

I think our dog has ear mites. she doesn't scratch but at the bottom of her floppy ears, it's flaky and crusty white. We have to board her in 2 weeks, will they still let us?

  • Is my dog's diet what is making my dog vomit?

We stared our dog on a mix of broccoli, kelp, salmon, rice, yogurt and some wet dog food. It has helped her itching and coat tremendously, but just recently she has started to throw it up after her morning feeding, not right away, but about 4 or 5 hours later. Could this food or mixture be something we can't keep feeding her because maybe something is too rich in it? Should I go to just plain dog food for a while. She has terrible skin allergies and this mixture helped so much.

  • How can I tell if my dog has lyme disease?

My almost one year old puppy has been sleeping a lot more in the last week. We just started using Frontline on her 2 weeks ago. I am worried that she has lyme. Is there anything that I can look out for to let me know if this should be a concern? Thanks for your help!

  • Can humans get giardia from dogs?

  • Skipped Interceptor: is dog blood test necessary?

I skipped the February and March doses of my dog's Interceptor. It's been bitter cold here. My dog is primarily indoors and there's no sign of mosquitoes. He acts perfectly healthy. For two years prior to February 2010, he received his dosages monthly. Can I resume his Interceptor monthly dose without a blood test for heart worms? He sees a vet regularly but because my income is low I need to avoid adding costs to the bill. Thank you.

  • Normal reaction to dog vaccines?

My 6month old Shih Tzu just got his shot and after about an hour or so became really lethargic. Is this a normal reaction to the rabies, kennel parvo shots?

  • Dog pain medication - what can you use over the counter?

My dog sprained her ankle. What can I give her for pain/inflammation?

  • Side effects of Phenylpropanolamine?

My yellow lab takes this medication for possible ectopice ureters. She has urinary incontinence only when she is off this medication. She is 16 months old. She may be suffering from separation anxiety as she destroys things when we are at work. I am wondering if her extreme hyperness and anxiety is related to the use of this med or is it just because she is a lab puppy.
