Three weeks ago I adopted a 2 year old male basset hound from the local shelter. Since then he's been coughing and has thick nasal discharge (yellowish). He's been in and out of the vet and been on a variety of antibiotics. My vet thinks it's pneumonia, but possibly distemper. The vet put him on doxycycline for 10 days and we retested his blood and it came back at 14.8. We gave him another 4 weeks of Doxycycline and his lymphocyte count is 14.3. I took her in less than a month ago to get up to date on all her shots (lyme series, heart worm test, bortella and she was dewormed) Last week I took my dog to have her anal glands secreted since they were full. Today I came home from work and she has a large lump (about the size of a grape) on the outer layer of her thigh. She is acting normal, and does not seem to bother her when you touch it. Should I take her in right away or wait a few days to see if she gets better.

Hi, I have two orange tabby cats both 2 yrs old. I recently took them to the Vet because one of them keeps vomiting undigested food. However, I have an assumption of who it may be as she loves food and eats way too fast. My Golden had a heat-related seizure yesterday last year; legs splaying, thrashing about, unable to stand. This lasted about 30 minutes and we were finally able to calm him down. Ever since, we have tried to be careful when we play with him which is every afternoon. He insists. Yesterday, he had another seizure. We had played ball for a while and taken a 30 minute break. When we resumed, we only threw the ball twice before the seizure ocurred. He was indoors between the play sessions in the A/C. Do you think the transition between the air-conditioned house and the hot/humid outdoors contributed to the seizure? Would we be better off cooling-off/resting outdoors so he stays acclimated to the environment? He really lives for the play time but I can't bear to watch him go through the seizures or worse, watch him die from them.
