There are several things you need to do if your cat has fleas. You need to kill not only the live fleas but the eggs as well. To kill the eggs you should wash all bedding and blankets. You should also vacuum your carpets and maybe even have them professionally cleaned. Dispose of vacuum bags immediately. To remove fleas from your cat you should first brush your cat thoroughly. Then you need to bathe you cat with a flea shampoo. You can also purchase flea treatments that can be applied once a month to the back of your cats neck that should prevent your cat from becoming reinfested with fleas in the future.
