Ingredients in Temaril-P

Temaril-P blends trimeprazine tartrate and prednisolone. Trimeprazine tartrate is an antihistamine that reduces the body's natural allergic response to allergens. It's effective at treating food allergies, inhalant allergies and pollens. It works by tricking the body into thinking it has completed an allergic reaction to a specific allergen. The allergy isn't eliminated, instead the body stops the response to the allergy.

Prednisolone is a corticosteroid. It effectively treats inflammation, itching and some allergic reactions. Prednisolone works by joining glucocorticoid receptors within the body suppressing the body's natural immune response. Because the body is suppressing the natural response to an infection, inflammation will not occur. However, it also makes the body more susceptible to infection so keep your dog isolated from sick pets.
