Dog Skunk Smell Removal

The stench of dog skunk odor is probably one of the strongest and most nose wrinkling smell that you will ever encounter. And it always seems to happen at the most inopportune times, such as light at night or in the wee hours of the morning. If you don't have any products on hand to treat the smell, you will probably be running around like crazy trying to figure out what will get rid of it.

Your best defense in this case is to always be prepared with products and remedies on hand because the longer the smell stays on your dog, it will continue to penetrate deeper into the layers of skin and will be most difficult to get rid of.

It is also important to remember that the spray from a skunk can be very irritating to your dog's eyes and he may need medical treatment if the eyes are very severely agitated.

Skunk Odor Eliminator

Skunk Odor Eliminator is a product made by the Brampton Company and something that you should have on hand just in case a skunk situation arises. This product uses natural bacterium and enzymes which are designed to fight and control the smell of skunk odor. It is a simple solution to a complex problem and will not dry out your dog's coat or leave any residuals that could irritate your dog's skin.

In order to get the most benefit from this product, you will first need to bathe your dog using only water. While your dog is still in the bath tub, apply the recommended amount of Skunk Odor Eliminator and let is sit for 10 to 15 minutes. In the meantime, you could work on something like nail trimming to keep your dog occupied.

After the solution has set for the designated amount of time, wash it off with warm water. You can then take your dog out of the bath and dry him down with a towel. After your dog is semi-dry, you will want to apply another lathering of the odor solution to your dog's fur.

Be sure to rub it around to all of the parts of your dog's body and let it air dry with your dog. This will keep the solution in tact and help to eliminate any of the residual odors left from the bath.
