Nosode is a homeopathic remedy that is used to prevent disease, much the same as a traditional vaccine.
Nosodes have been used in homeopathic medicine for a long time. They are made by taking substances, such as respiratory discharge, from a sick person or animal and diluting them with alcohol in a homeopathic solution. That solution is then ingested, and has the same effect in the body as a vaccine.
Nosodes can be used as a homeopathic alternative to dog vaccines when your dog reaches the age of vaccination at three months. Nosodes are particularly effective as a puppy vaccine because your puppy doesn't have to swallow it; it just has to make contact with the tissue inside your puppy's mouth.
Homeopathic nosode medicines are flavored with a lactose sugar base to make the treatment more appealing to your dog.
There are some risks associated with the use of dog vaccines. Some dogs are sensitive to vaccines such as Duramune, which are used against canine distemper, parvovirus, adenovirus, and parainfluenza. Some vaccine batches have been known to poison dogs.
