Organic Dog Biscuits

Dog biscuits are a treat that most dogs enjoy, and pet owners love to give them to their dogs. Organic dog biscuits are especially healthy for dogs because they don't contain chemicals, additives and other substances that aren't considered healthy. Many pet owners who feed their pets an organic dog food will want to also feed their pet organic dog biscuits. Organic food items are considered healthier for dogs because they usually contain high quality ingredients that are natural and free of chemicals.

Why Is Organic Healthier for Dogs?

Most dog foods that are not organic contain a considerable amount of additives, flavor enhancers, chemicals and other undesirable ingredients. Dogs are not meant to eat these unhealthy chemicals, and they can cause your pet to feel less healthy than he should. Organic dog foods and biscuits do not contain any of these chemicals or substances, and are made with high quality ingredients. Most organic food items are higher in nutrition than non-organic items, as well.

Organic Dog Biscuits

There are various different organic dog foods and biscuits that can be purchased at most pet stores and veterinary facilities. Organic food items for dogs will be more costly, however, because you are paying for a healthier diet for your pet. Even so, when you feed your dog organic foods you should notice that he is more energetic and healthy than ever before.

Pet owners can also prepare their own organic dog biscuits at home with a few simple ingredients. There is no specific way to create organic treats for dogs, but they should contain organic ingredients for the most part. One of the most basic recipes involves the combination of 1-1/2 cups of water, 1/4 cup of vegetable oil, a spoonful of organic applesauce, 2 organic eggs, a spoonful of vanilla, 1/3 cup of organic peanut butter, 2-1/2 cups of organic whole wheat flour, 3/4 cup of white flour, 1 cup of organic cornmeal and 3/4 cup of organic oats. After all the ingredients have been gathered, combine them into a bowl and mix. After mixing the ingredients together, roll into treat-sized portions and bake for 20 minutes. For crispier dog biscuits, more time in the oven may be used.

Regular Dog Biscuits and Organic Dog Biscuits

Dog biscuits that are not organic may appear to look exactly like organic dog biscuits, but they are in fact very different. Nutritionally, organic dog biscuits usually contain higher quality ingredients and more minerals and vitamins. It is easy, and often cheaper, to purchase non-organic dog treats at the store, but feeding them to your pet means he will also be consuming chemicals and other ingredients that dogs are not meant to eat. Organic dog biscuits are all natural, nutritious, and free of chemicals and additives. After feeding your pet organic dog biscuits after a certain length of time, you will probably notice his overall health and well-being improving.
